2025/04/24 - WorkAxle Release Notes

The April 2025 update is now live! Below is a list of features and enhancements that are available for you.

We're excited to bring you new enhancements and important fixes to improve your experience!

New Enhancements

  • Visual Indicator for Published vs. Unpublished Schedules in By Shift Views: We introduced a visual enhancement to clearly indicate unpublished schedules in the By Shift Daily and Weekly views. This update helps managers identify publishing status at a glance without toggling between views

    • In the Daily view, a striped background now appears for shifts assigned to employees with unpublished schedules.

    • In the Weekly view, the striped background is shown on collapsed shift cards if at least one assigned employee has an unpublished shift, and on specific rows when the shift is expanded.

  • Enhanced Bidders Filter with Availability-Based Options: We’ve introduced an enhancement to the Shift Assignment modal that improves how the Bidders filter works when assigning open shifts. Previously, this filter displayed all employees who had submitted a bid, regardless of their availability, making it difficult for rosterers to quickly identify which bidders were actually eligible. With this update, the Bidders filter now includes an additional filters icon that provides two clear options:
    • Bidders without conflicts (default) – Displays only bidders who are available for the shift and have no scheduling conflicts.
    • All bidders including conflicts – Maintains the original behavior, showing all employees who placed a bid, regardless of their availability.
  • Adjustments Made to the Shift/Timecard Report API Endpoint: We've made the following improvements to the Shift/Timecard Report API:
    • Actual hours now correctly exclude unpaid break time from the reported value.
    • Resolved an issue where in-progress shifts were not included in the report extract. These shifts now appear as expected in API responses.

Bug Fixes

    • Bulk Copy and Paste: We resolved an issue where shifts copied from one week were incorrectly pasted using the context of the currently displayed week. The bulk paste operation now correctly retains the original week’s context, ensuring shifts are placed accurately according to their intended dates.
    •  Duplicate Employee Listings in Available and Unavailable Filters: We've resolved an issue in the Shift Assignment popup within the By Shift Daily view where the same employee could appear under both the Available and Unavailable filters.
    • Incorrect Total Count Displayed When Group Restriction is Applied: We've resolved an issue in the People tab where the total count displayed at the bottom did not accurately reflect the number of employees shown when a group restriction was applied. The fix ensures that the total count dynamically updates to match the filtered employee list, providing accurate visibility based on applied filters.
    • Same Employees Listed Under the Available and Unavailable Selections of The Shift Assignment Candidate Filter: We've resolved an issue in the Shift Assignment popup within the By Shift views where the same employee appeared under both the Available and Unavailable filters. To address this, we’ve adjusted the logic that determines which employees appear in each list to ensure that no employee is shown in both filters simultaneously. This update eliminates confusion and provides a clearer, more reliable experience for end users assigning shifts.
    • Missing tooltips added in the shift assignment screen’s candidate filter: We've resolved an issue in the By Shift views where tooltips were missing from certain items in the candidate filter dropdown. Specifically, “Available - Qualified” and “Unavailable - Qualified” did not display tooltips. Previously, tooltips were only shown for a subset of dropdown values, leading to inconsistent behavior and reduced clarity for users. This update ensures that tooltips are now consistently displayed for all applicable entries in the dropdown, providing end users with better visibility and a more intuitive experience when assigning shifts.

    • Shift Acceptance Offer for Open Shifts Was Displaying Twice: We've resolved an issue where assigned open shifts were appearing twice in an employee's schedule on the mobile app—once as a placed bid and once as the actual scheduled shift. This occurred in scenarios where an employee placed a bid shortly before the shift start time and was subsequently assigned to that same shift. With this fix, once an open shift is assigned, the corresponding bid entry is automatically removed from the employee’s schedule, ensuring only the final assigned shift is visible. This correction improves clarity and ensures schedule accuracy for mobile users.
